Communal ground in the centre of the transforming freight depot quarter.

The building composition acts as the fitting piece in the urban development of the former freight depot quarter. Together with the nearby apartment buildings it forms a sheltered green square. Our design leaves strategic openings within itself and the existing buildings to connect green structures and to invite the neighbourhood into the courtyard as a communal ground with gastronomy and plugged through commercial uses on ground level.

All 130 apartments profit equaly from the generous balcony zone spanning around the building complex, either facing the sun or offering direct glances into the green courtyard. The two – layered facade makes the balcony zone comfortable to use all year round, offers individual levels of intimacy towards the surrounding area and helps dealing with nearby train track noise.
